the gentle pace of cricket …

Dready, Dready Art and Everything Dready

i like listening to cricket on the radio, when the test matches are on, it is one of the most soothing things in the world …

two of those days of everlasting memory were spent with one grandfather at sabina park and another at some county ground near sevenoaks, kent; the noise of one and the green peace of the other.

cricket’s a delightful day well spent, the gentle pace of the overs, the pause for tea, the smell of fresh mowed grass, the quiet movement of the fielders changing with each new bowler …

dready is of course a cricket player … but in this case for the need of the art and what i wanted to portray I’ve moved on to evolved characters and a slightly less two dimensional view –

sometimes it’s nice to stretch the boundaries of the art that you’re doing without completely leaving the box behind – so the simplicity is there, the large blocks of colour, the rastafication, but we’ve skewed it a liccle, turned it on its angle and played with it.
