there are the two trustafarians, in this same austin van in a post below, and then these two ‘hipsters’ trolling through life and love and the pursuit of happiness. my dooood has now grown a little goatee beard and longer hair …

somebody told me yesterday that i need something more than just pretty pictures to help people glom on to the idea of the pretty pictures … he meant more of a ‘slogan’ or a repartee for each piece of art …

i said, that it was these ideas that i wanted to impart along with the art:

‘I’m just a bit of a hippie artist at heart, who believes that the ultimate goal in life is to live happily and, I suppose, that by buying into the art you’re sharing some of that joy.’

and

‘dready art is a 100% caribbean product: we live here and are from here, our children were born here, I draw it here (mostly, cause sometimes I draw it when I’m travelling!). So despite what has become the kind of global reach of dready art, we try to think of ourselves as a little Caribbean company just doing our thing.’
