dready art ‘fuck the allegory’ – 18×24 – original on canvas
this dready was to be about history, and architectural art and architecture and the ‘darjeeling express’ … i love that movie, the colours, the scene setting, the train …
at the centre of this image is a tree house/doll house and a little girl, and the rest of the art is about her; about the house she grew up in, her life, the places she came from, the place she was at, what she does in life and what she likes …
it’s all there, much of it’s not stated; it’s there in colours, in images, in things added to images … it’s actually a wild array of allegory.
it was a challenging bit of work, required a lot of research and even in its simplicity there’s a lot of detail … and it was cool because i lived in the city she was born, we both went to the same school (years and years apart), we both came to cayman as small people and we both ended up here …
ites!
