dready in disguise
dready art ‘portrait of a man in disguise’ – image – 24×24
so this is not really a story about a man with a gun; the gun is a prop, and part of the greater story of a ‘portrait of a man in disguise’ …
it was, to me, a cool cool idea to portray this man, who knows that this is him, in disguise …
anonymity even in art …
but it was the pose that drew me to draw him, confident, up right, strong, a small wry smile …
coolness …
Dready art is a 100% caribbean product: it was imagined here, designed here, tested here – in barbados, bvi, cayman, grenada and jamaica – we live here and are from here, our children were born here, I draw it here (mostly, cause sometimes I draw it when I’m traveling!). So despite what has become the kind of global reach of dready art we try to think of ourselves as a little caribbean company just doing our thing.
