adding an animal to the dreadys always seems to strike a chord with people, but it also helps to add whimsy and to balance space …

the placement of the goat in the back seat of a car is only partially about humour and about relating a ‘story’ of identity, it also gives the viewer something to look for, makes them part of the dready – they end up wondering what they’ll find: the goat, the chicken, a dog … more than one; where’s the red yellow and green symbol …

an ‘aunt’ of the family … another side of the family, one by marriage, so not my aunt, their aunt – long story eh! – used to put a lizard in her art and we all used to try and find the lizard every time we saw one of her paintings; it was a thing and made you the viewer part of the art … made you like the art even more.

besides that I like animals … well cats, am kinda meh about cats, and pet fish, birds, reptiles, double double meh with knobs on …

okay, well, so I like dogs!

well, and I like goats and sheep and donkeys and horses and cows and chickens …

anyhow, nuff said …

peace … and love
