finding the ways to portray ideas is the most difficult part of the job … i mean drawing’s a pretty intense process but you don’t even notice the difficulty of it, it’s a joy and a release even …

but you sit, I sit, and look at combinations of ideas, try stuff and give it up part way … then the bones of this idea for instance came to me and time and time again I came back to trying to figure out how I’d get from the bare bones to the finished idea …

all I can say is that it took a while.

I really liked this commission, it had some seriously lovely elements to it, not the least of which is the dogs, and what was/is their obviously fun and loving nature …
