dready art ‘jack/permit fish’ – 24×24 – limited edition archival pigment print
the sea in south sound, the sound really, is shallow shallow and full of turtle grass out to about 100 feet off the beach, and then it gets a little deeper and sand and coral and spots of sea grass mix, before it dips down, just taller than a tall human for a short bit before coming up again to shallow by the reef …
when the tide is low the grass is almost high and dry …
amongst the seagrass, the turtle grass, are conch and lobster and permit and jack and bonefish and starfish and baby sharks … it’s like a nursery of marine stuffs and t’ings and in the evenings the bigger fish move through shallows feeding, their little fins breaking the surface and their scurry evident in splashes and waves and eddies of action.
i like the ‘watercolour’ wash look of this dready …
people have been asking me if I had any other fish to go with the lionfish dready and now, I do …
and probably some bookmarks too …
fry fish and festival!
