I’d done the Burr and Co christmas card last christmas and we’d had discussions about bookmarks and t’ing – but it was one of those jobs that just didn’t progress to an end; which is a pity because the bookmarks work well.

this happens from time to time, you work through ideas with people that just don’t have an end result to them … and there’s nothing wrong with that, but you make the clients invest in your time.

the minute I saw the rocking horse in the client’s space this idea began gelling in my mind, this is how I saw it, the business woman letting her hair down … but when the client saw the rocking horse they saw it with two businessmen in suits and bowler hats, using it like kids and so the points of view clashed and the job didn’t progress to a fruition …

although the kimpton uses dready bookmarks and dready art as amenities – one of the front of house managers came and asked me for a special amenities card but in the end they just decided to use the bookmarks as a way to give special guest amenities … that said I love this.

not all that glitters is gold …
