dready still doing the same stick

Dready, Dready Art and Everything Dready dready2Bfamily2B2527Van25272Bcopy

dready art ‘Family ‘Van” – 36×12 – original commission on canvas

the name is a play on words because this family is from, ya know, vancouver …

so what’s cool about this, for me, is that am still getting to do the dready stick figures, I still draw them and people still ask for them …

there’s something very special about them … When I started drawing other things than stick figures some people felt, to use the phraseology of one,  I’d left the shallow end of the creativity pool … and I dunno if I am qualified to answer that; I draw other things than stick figures, because there are things that I want to express and can’t in stick figures, and so if I don’t evolve I don’t get to speak, I don’t get to say what I want to say … but even when I do I try to carry through the simplicity and the humour.

but I always want to come back to them; they are where I started out and so they still resonate.

love …

So despite what has become the kind of global reach of dready art we try to think of ourselves as a little caribbean company just doing our thing.
