dready art – ‘saturday night lime’ – image
people sometimes ask me where inspiration comes from …
two things set me off on this dready – and let me just stop here and say I love this dready – a hand gesture by a famous photographer, and the way a man was sitting in a chair set me off, and I combined the ideas together and added the usual dready elements of an animal, and in this case a red stripe beer.
the hand gesture – I talk with my hands but it’s more than that a gesture, a way of standing, takes the thing you’re drawing and gives it life and vibes, lifts it out of the mundane it also gives you a story to build around … so the gesture led to the look, led to the dog and its look, led to the vibe …
the way a man was sitting – I am always fascinated by the way some men can get their crossed leg over and all the way against the leg that’s on the ground … it’s a very elegant way of being able to sit and something I can’t do …
and all the while I was thinking about last night, we’d planned to go west bay fish fry and sit on the wall by the beach at boggy sands and eat and have a few drinks … justin had brought a cooler cause fish fry doesn’t have a liquor license …
justin can sit that way …
but the heavy all day rain had closed fish fry early, and so we went elsewhere, and for a moment at least sat on the wall there as well … but I still was feeling the vibe of the wall by the sea, and the way the sky had been at the end of the day …
chillin …
