dready art – palm heights ride – image
there was a time when south church street between town and walkers road was more lush, it’s building up rapidly now … progress happens along with nostalgia, eh … the old making way for the new …
and out in front of the old seaview hotel a line of cocount trees used to shade the road and I saw a photo of a woman riding along, right there and because of the colour of the old photo, warm and deep in greens and blues, I began thinking of it on a rainy day, the petrichor smell heavy in the suddenly cool air, a woman cycling from town in a pretty dress …
and then I was driving down palm heights drive and it still has that vibe that south church street used to have, that feeling of older-ness and of greenery creeping out onto and over the road and so thought that it would be better as palm heights ride, because it’s not that I care that much about the nostalgia of it, but I think that memory and moments are important …
peace …
